If you suspect that your computer has been infected with malware please follow this tutorial on removing the infection.

1. First disable System Restore and reboot your pc, this will delete all of your old restore points so that you can't accidentally reinfect your pc. How to disable System Restore - XP, How to disable System Restore - Vista & 7.

2. Run RKill, this will kill any known malicious processes so that you can remove them. Then run Combofix this will target and remove specific known malware. If you are infected with the TDSS Rootkit then you should also run Kaspersky's TDSSKiller.

3. Install CCleaner and run it, this will delete all of your temporary and junk files, download the “slim build”.

4. Install Avast! FREE Antivirus, set it up as I recommend HERE and do a full system scan and remove all that it finds. Make sure to uninstall your current antivirus program first.

5. Install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, update it and do a full system scan and remove all that it finds.

6. Install SUPERAntiSpyware, update it and do a full system scan and remove all that it finds.

7. Download and run AdwCleaner to remove any possible leftover malware.

8. Install SpywareBlaster, update then enable all protection.

9. Install Glary Utilities and perform the 1-Click Maintenance option.

10. Download Autoruns and see if there are any leftover malware entries that were missed and delete them.

11. Go to Microsoft Update and do ALL of the updates that are available.

11. Setup Norton ConnectSafe on your pc or network. This will help prevent malware and speed up your internet a bit.

13. Install Bitdefender TrafficLight, it works with Chrome and adds another layer of protection.

14. Once your computer is clean, start using Google Chrome for your web browser, due to it's sandboxing technology most drive-by infections will be avoided. Also make sure to use the Adblock Plus extension with EasyList and Malware Domains list.
